Wegmans Pulls Alec Baldwin Ads Over His Airplane Antics

UPDATE: Well look at that… Wegmans has completely changed its mind after realizing that the internet likes Alec Baldwin.

———-

Remember those adorable ads Alec Baldwin filmed for Wegmans supermarkets just because his mom was so in love with the store? Well, apparently the actor’s recent behavior on an American Airlines flight ticked off enough customers that the chain has decided not to air the commercials anymore.

“We had perhaps a couple of dozen complaints, and we take complaints from our customers seriously,” a Wegmans rep tells the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. “We enjoyed working with Mr. Baldwin, but under the circumstances we thought it best to discontinue the ads.”

The ads originally ran in the fall of 2010 but were brought back during the recent holiday season, just in time for the 30 Rock star to get booted from an American Airlines flight for reportedly refusing to turn off his phone because he was in the middle of a game of Words with Friends.
