Kid In Store Asks Demo iPhone A Question, Siri Tells Him To "Shut The (Bleep) Up"

We knew it was just a matter of time before Siri got fed up with the whole nice, iPhone voice-activated assistance thing and showed her true colors. A young boy in London was trying out one of the phones in a store and asked Siri, “How many people are there in the world?” and got quite the potty-mouthed response.

The Sun says Siri told 12-year-old Charlie in reply, “Shut the f*** up, you ugly t***.” Wait a gosh darn minute, that’s not the world’s population!

Charlie’s mom wasn’t too happy with the phone’s response, and was angry that it was on a low enough shelf at the Tesco for her son or any other young kids to pick up and try out.

“I thought I must be hearing things. So we asked again and the same four-letter stuff blared out,” she told the paper.

The staff apologized and unplugged the phone, explaining to Charlie and his mom that someone must have tampered with the phone, and programmed the user’s name as the string of expletives.

Funny maybe if you’re pulling a prank on your pal, but not so much for children. Tesco says they’re sending the phone back to Apple for diagnostic tests.
