Fine Print In Ad Offering Free Shipping Explains It's Not Actually Free

Funny how an ad with a big “Free Shipping” graphic can then turn around and warn in the fine print that shipping isn’t included in purchases. Confusing, and exactly what Corey spotted in a promotion for

Eagle-eyed reader Corey writes of the promotion: “Saw this ad with free shipping. Went to purchase and says free shipping only over $75 (?) dollars. Note on bottom of ad says shipping not included. I did not purchase.”

Indeed, the ad, which hypes a deal for 20 holiday cards for the price of only $5, has a cute little truck boasting free shipping. Which you know, could conceivably lead customers to believe that shipping would be free.

If there’s a minimum order required to lock in that free shipping deal, a little heads-up in the fine print wouldn’t be remiss.
