No matter how great a price you find for whatever you’re buying online, there’s a chance you can make it even cheaper before you complete the order. A quick search for discount codes can provide blanket discounts or eliminate shipping charges. Such codes are the not-so-secret handshakes of online commerce.

One site Money Beagle recommends include PromotionCode.org, but a general search with the site’s name and a promotion code will do the trick.

Some sites have codes that are generic and have seemingly been around forever, such as Verizon’s “FREEOVERNT” code that provides free overnight shipping. Others expire after a preset time period or number of uses.
