Ban A Bad Shopping Habit To Save Money

It’s easy to become addicted to a daily coffee shop run, eating out for lunch or other regular buys of non-essential stuff that you’ve turned into habits. Regular splurges can worm their way into your budget and undermine your ability to save, reduce debt or spend your money in other, more worthwhile ways.

On her blog, Shaking the Money Tree, Jolie writes that she’s cutting herself off from ebook buys until Christmas, saying that Amazon’s one-click Kindle book purchases make it too easy to stock up on stuff she’ll have no time to read. She’s also caught herself re-buying books she’s sold at garage sales before.

While it’s not easy to break a buying habit, identifying a problem is at least a first step toward getting there.
