Consumer Reports Looking For Mystery Shoppers In New York State
Once again, our cohorts at Consumer Reports are looking to recruit new freelance mystery shoppers to make undercover purchases for the magazine, all while getting paid to shop.
This time, CR is specifically looking for shoppers throughout New York State. So if you’re detail-oriented, reliable, can meet deadlines, are email- and spreadsheet-savvy (Excel), you may just fit the bill!
Applicants should live within 20 miles of major department stores,discount/wholesale stores, supermarkets, drugstores and other large retailers.
As part of your application, please submit the following:
• Name, address, city and state, plus nearest metropolitan city(ies)
• A list of the major retailers within 20 miles for the types of stores listed above
• 3 examples of store branded/private label products in your area
• 3 product trends you’ve noticed or issues consumers face when shopping
• A paragraph (up to 250 words) on why you think you would make a great mystery shopper for Consumer Reports.
Consumer Reports cannot guarantee regular employment — you may work less than 10 hours one month and up to 30 on another. The pay rate for secret shoppers is $12/hour.
CR mystery shoppers are required to follow guidelines and directives very carefully and must demonstrate the highest ethical behavior, which includes never using the name of Consumer Reports to obtain special or preferential treatment.
