Help Us Find Consumer Reports' Most Famous Test Subject

Back in 1938, Consumer Reports, publisher of Consumerist, snapped this famous photo of a little girl testing this device intended to give her a perm. Now, CR is looking to get in touch with the girl in the photo or her family.

If you know her or think you know who she is, email us at tips@consumerist.com with “Curlers” in the subject line.

If you’re curious what Consumer Reports wrote about the device, the caption for the photo reads, “The felt pads between the curlers and her head… can be excellent carriers of scalp disease.”
