Save Money, Roast Your Own Coffee

Daily coffee shop runs can add up and hamstring your finances. If cutting down on your caffeine intake isn’t an option, you can grind away at costs by doing the legwork to roast and brew your own.

Credit.com takes you through the process step-by-step:

First, buy a popcorn popper and some green coffee beans, which can cost less than half as much as the roasted variety. Buy the beans in bulk and keep them in an airtight plastic tub. Pour the beans in your popper, turn it on and roast the beans for 10 minutes or so. Wait 24 hours before grinding the beans in order to allow the chemical transformation to bring forth a better flavor.

How do you cut costs on your coffee habit?
