Ohio Convenience Store Plays Classical Music To Curtail Loitering

The eternal dilemma for convenience store managers is how to rid the store of undesirable, customer-intimidating loiterers and panhandlers. Someone at a shop in Ohio may have figured out the secret: Play music that repels the unwanted wallflowers.

WBNS Ohio reports customers say that since the store started blasting classical music, the amount of loiterers has drastically fallen off.

Says one shopper: “I’d rather listen to the music than have everybody out here.”

What sort of music do you think would repel loiterers from other places, such as, say, shopping malls or coffee shops?
