Trick Yourself To Quit Smoking

The most effective business model is to physically addict your customers. It’s a lesson smokers know all too well, and a reason many smokers are in a perpetual, unsuccessful state of “quitting.”

Smokefree.gov offers some basics on some mental guidelines that can hopefully provide the framework for a successful quitting endeavor:

Stop thinking like a smoker. Instead of rationalizing “Just one cigarette will take the edge off these cravings,” realize that “just one puff will make the cravings stronger.”

Identify concrete reasons to quit. Realize you’ll have more money, smell better, be healthier and will make others around you proud.

Focus on your triggers. If you tie certain daily activities to smoking, you can try to replace smoking with other rewarding habits.

If you’ve managed to quit, what worked for you?
