Reader Danny writes in that he was approved for a new Chase Ink credit card, but by the time it showed up in his mailbox, it was already canceled.
Chase offered Danny no reason why they canceled his card. “I have never had a late payment, have a high credit score, have no negatives on my credit report, and have demonstrated responsible borrowing in the past,” he writes.
One clue, however, is that “Apparently there are 2 departments within the credits department and the existing accounts department overrules the credit approvals department,” writes Danny.
Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left is doing. Probably the people who called you were actually a marketing company hired to generate new customers and the internal Chase review department rejected you along with some of the other leads the vendor sent over.
