The 8 Least Evil Banks In America

Banks that aren’t evil? Really? CNN Money rounded up eight American banks that might not be consumer paradises, but offer free checking, no ATM fees, and comparatively high interest rates for savings accounts.

The article itself is a slideshow, but here are CNN’s suggestions:

  1. Ally Bank
  2. ING Direct
  3. USAA
  4. Capital One
  5. Alliant Credit Union
  6. PNC
  7. The Incredible Bank
  8. Charles Schwab

Most of these are not brick-and-mortar banks in most of the country, so if you like to hand over your deposits to a real live teller, they are not for you. Check out the offerings of your locally-owned banks and credit unions
