Lee Harvey Oswald's Coffin To Go Up For Auction, Minus Lee Harvey Oswald

If you’re searching for the perfect holiday gift for the conspiracy nut in your life, here’s a deal for you — The first coffin of Lee Harvey Oswald, the most famous of the dozen or so men who shot John F. Kennedy, is going to go up for auction in L.A.

The simple pine box was the resting home of Mr. Oswald for almost two decades until it was unearthed in 1981 as part of a legal battle between the assassin’s wife and brother. Lee Harvey was subsequently re-buried in a new coffin. The funeral home that handled the re-internment is now selling the morbid object in an auction on Dec. 16 in Santa Monica, CA.

Bidding is expected to start at $1,000.
