Holiday Inn Will Pay Your Baggage Fees If You Stay With Them

In an attempt to alleviate the annoyance of checked baggage fees, all while drumming up some business, Holiday Inn — along with other IHG-brand hotels — will pay up to $50 of your fees if you book a weekend stay with your Visa card.

To take advantage of the deal, you’ll need to be traveling between Sept. 1 and Dec. 30 and use a Visa card to book at least two weekend nights at any of the following: Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites hotels.

The deal claims to be applicable to fees for all airlines.

In order to get reimbursed for your baggage fees, you’ll need: Your hotel bill showing Visa payment method and travel dates, along with your receipt for checked airline baggage fees and travel dates. If you booked the room through a non-IHG third party, you’ll also need that receipt to show that you paid with Visa and to confirm the dates of the stay.

Procrastinators take note: The reimbursement forms must be postmarked by Jan. 31, 2011.

Go to IHG.com/checkitfree for all the details on the deal.
