Greener cruises will cost more, save lives. New “green” regulations that might be enacted to help cut down on cruise ship emissions could improve the air around the North American coastline and even places such as the Grand Canyon and Great Smoky Mountains. But the new regulations may cost cruise lines $130 million a year. While prices might rise, an analysis projects that around 8,300 lives can be saved by the new laws. [Consumer Reports Money]
