Would You Desert Facebook Over Privacy Issues?

For now, perhaps. But as ambitious “talented young nerds” like the creators of Diaspora take aim at Facebook with new social networking communities, surely there is a future where not everyone, including your parents (hi Mom, hi Dad), neighbors and third grade teacher are all on Facebook.

So maybe your chats could become public, or your privacy settings default to the most open every time there’s a site update. All things considered, we’ve got a burning question to ask.
