Bioshock 2 Paid 'DLC' Is Already On The Disc

Video game press outlets, including Game Informer, are reporting that Bioshock 2’s $5 Sinclair Solutions Test Pack, which adds new characters, weapons and levels, is actually just code that unlocks stuff that’s already in the game.

The 108kb file size would seem to be too small to be anything other than an unlock key, Game Informer says.

The practice dates to the release of the Xbox 360 in 2006, but that still doesn’t make it right. If game developers want to parse out their work to gouge customers for it piece by piece via downloads, the least they could do is convince them that they created the download after they finished the game.
