Way To Defeat The Entire Point Of Streaming Video, Netflix

Netflix has the five-part miniseries “Torchwood: Children of Earth” available for Instant Streaming. (It’s good. You should watch it.) Cameron would like to watch it, but doesn’t really see the point. For some reason, the second of five episodes can’t be streamed, and must be watched on DVD.

He writes:

Below is a screenshot from my Netflix acct. I wanted to watch “Torchwood: Children of Earth”. Episodes 1 and 3 thru 5 are available to watch instantly. However, you have to get a physical disk to see episode 2.

This kind of defeats the purpose of “Watch Instantly” as you can only watch the beginning and ending.

Now, now, it’s just some quality angst and major plot points you’re missing out on.

Since “Children of Earth” is only a two-disc set, there is no logical reason to leave the the second episode off streaming availability. Have you run into this problem with any other TV series? Share your tales of woe and inconvenience in comments, or send them to tips@consumerist.com.
