Trader Joe's Recalls Chocolate Chip Chewy Coated Granola Bars

Apparently not content to let Toyota and Honda hog all the recall headlines this week, the good folks at grocery store chain Trader Joe’s have announced a “my bad” of their own, recalling a few batches of their Trader Joe’s Chocolate Chip Chewy Coated Granola Bars — no, not for having a ridiculously long name — but because you might get sick from eating them.

Reads a statement on their site:

“To our valued customers: We have been alerted by our supplier of Trader Joe’s Chocolate Chip Chewy Coated Granola Bars that there is a possibility that product with Use by Dates/ Lot Codes 16JUL10H2 and 17JUL10HI may cause a serious food-borne illness. As a precaution, all of the product has been removed from sale and has been destroyed. To date, we have received no reports of illness related to this product.

If you purchased any Trader Joe’s Chocolate Chip Chewy Coated Granola Bars with the specified code dates, please do no eat them. Please return the product (full or empty) to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund or dispose of it.”

Whatever you do, don’t offer one to that person at work no one likes because they’re always stealing food from the fridge in the kitchen area. Definitely do not do that.
