Update On Possible Comcast/Ticketmaster/Live Nation Abomination (With Poll)

After yesterday’s news that Comcast was considering getting in on the already-under-antitrust-scrutiny merger between Ticketmaster and Live Nation, the original article has been updated to be slightly less bad.

The Bloomberg article that we had cited has since been updated to better state rumors that Comcast is considering acquiring some of Ticketmaster’s ticketing and client contracts, not that they were considering merging with Ticketmaster itself. So instead of being forced to buy tickets from Ticketmaster, you might soon be forced to buy tickets from Comcast.

    I see ComcastFrank has voted.

  2. winshape says:

Wow. 66 votes and 0 for Ticketmaster. Too bad the PR guys from these companies don’t care about stuff like this.

    lololol 137 for Satan

I’d rather buy from Comcast, then tell them I want to cancel to get a lower price

  4. AHepburnGuy says:

I can’t believe Comcast is actually leading Ticketmaster/LN. Your only job is to sell ticekts and you lose to a cable company. Jeez.

  5. Kishi says:

At least Satan doesn’t hide the fact he’s trying to screw you, and he respects you if you can find a loophole in the contract.

  6. Darklighter says:

The poll doesn’t show up in my RSS reader, but I knew before I clicked the link that the third option would be Satan, and that he’d be winning by a mile.

  7. arsenicookie says:

there should be a “aren’t they all the same entity?” option.

You know people really hate your company when they’d rather buy from Satan!

I haven’t bought tickets to anything in years excluding a few performances where tickets were sold by the venue, precisely because I am completely unwilling to pay Ticketmaster’s unbelievable prices just to get screwed if anything goes wrong.
