Kmart Worker Who Put Rat Poison In Ground Beef Sentenced To 1 Year House Arrest

The pissed off Kmart worker who tried to get revenge against the store by putting rat poison in the ground beef has been sentenced to a year of house arrest, plus $4,000 in restitution to Kmart.

Karen Wyndham usually worked in the dairy section of the North Charleston, S.C. Kmart. She was asked to move to another section of the store and rebelled by tainting several packages of ground beef.

From the AP:

Upset about the way Kmart treated its workers, Wyndham told agents she put rat poison in several beef packages to “slow down the meat department’s money making by cutting into their sales,” according to an affidavit.

The tampering was discovered by another Kmart employee and no tainted meat was sold.
