Dell: Liar, Liar, Laptop on Fire.

Or ‘Look! There’s Lithium-Ion Leaking Into Your Lap!’

Despite the fact that Dell’s Latitude laptop batteries were overheating so badly that they actually, physically exploded, requiring a recall of over 22,000 machines, an anonymous Dell insider has said that Dell knew of the problem for over two years and did nothing.

Dell denies it. They would do. Too bad the insider has internal Dell documentation of charred and melted laptops to prove it.

Which is a good reminder: if you’ve got a Dell laptop, head on over to dellbatteryprogram.com and see if you’re eligible for a laptop that can’t be hurled at an airplane’s exit door as an impromptu terrorist device.
