Smirnoff Marketing Team to Teach HipHop Classes

Street culture vulture Bucky Turco sent in a hot tip about the opening of the Smirnoff Movement Space opening in Brooklyn. As part of a customer service outreach program, Smirnoff is here, he writes, “In case you want to learn how to do graffiti or hip-hop dancing.”

It’s part of the service provided by corporations in their ongoing campaign to assimilate Black cultural movements and sanctify them for white consumption. Yes, we know, the mass production of hiphop isn’t anything new, but it’s still pathetic.

We can’t wait to see advertisers appropriate grime and crunking, two underground, unapologetically Black, subcultures that would be quite dangerous for a lily-of-the-morning account executive to stroll into.

BROOKLYN WILL KILL YOU, SMIRNOFF!
