That just seems really improbable. I've bought quite a few hard drives recently, all have barcode stickers, and my shipping invoice from the supplier lists serial number and model of each drive.

In this case the Mavericks Suck drive has a Code 128 barcode that also reads mavericks suck, which I would assume would throw up errors in the inventory management software. If not at the distributor, then surely at the factory?

@BuddyGuyMontag: As a die-hard Mavs fan, I know that too many of the die-hard other sports fans like to attack the Mavs... you've got to give credit to LAST YEAR'S Golden State team for beating the COACH (note that I didn't say players - it was a failed coaching plan that got the Mavs in trouble after a picture-perfect 67-win season)... too bad they couldn't have followed up with another trip to the playoffs... ;-D Well Avery Johnson is gone now, and Dirk Nowitzki said it best: Dallas loved him but changes needed to be made. He had to go. Now maybe we'll get a coach who can help out Dirk and get something useful out of Jason Kidd....

Seriously, though. This wasn't a smart thing to do... although, even as a Mavs fan, it is a bit amusing... although it may be funnier if they replaced "Mavericks" with "Spurs" :-D

Well this one is setting off my "BS Alert" big time. The bar codes are used to quickly log stock in and out of the warehouse. Whoever was scanning the stock prior to shipment would have noticed the different identifier code (which is probably just "Mavericks Suck" in barcode font).

The Mavericks barcode is clearly different from the other two and the label isn't even completely attached to the ESD bag.

I'm gonna be the nice guy and say it was probably put there while training someone how to use the computer to print out the stickers with the bar codes. The stickers probably got passed down the line where it got applied to the drive without anyone noticing.
