with two kids and two cars I actually own 3 of this kind of carseat, 2 Cosco (NOT COSTCO Meg) and one Eddie Bauer. Having checked them none of the 3 I have are affected.

ALSO, when you fix the CostCo typo, please put the other affected brands (Safety 1st, Alpha Elite and Alpha Sport) in the lede graf.

so i have one of the affected seats for my daughter, i just called to get the replacement parts, and was transfered to the operator, once transfered i can hear people talking and typing in the background, but no one is on the line with me!!!! this has happened twice now in the last few minutes!!!! seriously not cool!!!!

I ran through this with my kid's car seat on Saturday morning. The problem seems to be with the part that allows adjustment of the harness allowing the harness to loosen. Dorel is automatically sending out repair kits to registered owners. Non-registered owners can request a kit.

The fire department in the county I used to live in kept a master list of recalled car seats and would hold free inspections to make sure your seat was fastened in correctly, but they would also check the make and model against the list. They pulled a lot of seats that had been recalled or damages and offered replacements for little to no cost. They would then run over the recalled models with the fire trucks. It was fun.
