Reuters has a wrap-up of some of the wackier gas-related stories of recent weeks, including the Nevada Brothel's free-gas-card offer, a church that's holding a weekly $50 gas card drawing during mass, and an Orlando father who pledged to name his baby after local radio hosts in order to collect a $100 gas card. There's also some gas thieves in Mesquite, Texas, who are siphoning from church vehicles, but that's not so much a "wacky stunt" as a type of criminal "preemptive charity." Drew was diagnosed with cancer last month. His chemotherapy kept him from using the Lion King tickets he had given to his girlfriend for Valentine's Day, so he told her to go with one of her friends. After the show, she stopped by the management office to ask if they had anything she could bring to Drew in the hospital. Though they had nothing on hand, they promised to send him "something special." A few days later, DHL showed up with up with all this free stuff and a nice personalized note. More »

American Airlines Doesn't Care If You Were Rushed To The ER With Appendicitis. You Are A No Show, And Will Receive No Refund.

"What is ya'lls experience with dealing with AA when the passenger has a case of appendicitis? My sister is going under the knife in London right now, and was admitted to the ER 6hrs before her scheduled flight back to Seattle. We've called AA and they say no chance of getting any sort of re-booking, rebate, coupon, or whatever because she was listed as a "No Show" for the flight.
