    Reach Samsung Escalated Customer Service

    Tier 1 : Basic Customer Service : 1-800-747-5618
Tier 2: Slightly Escalated Customer Service: 1-800-522-7341 #2
    Tier 3: Case Management: 1-888-685-1358

Comments from readers and around the net suggest that Tier 2 will follow the rules to the letter and not really give much nudge. If you need customer service people capable of independent thought and analysis, you'll want Tier 3, however, they can be hard to reach and seem to have a reputation for not returning phone calls.

No Shade For Sweaty Cleveland iPhone 3G Hopefuls

    Reader Ron writes:

Folks waiting in line for an iPhone 3G at the Legacy Village Apple store near Cleveland, OH are being told by Legacy Village (the complex, not the Apple store) that they can't wait in line on the sidewalk - even the sidewalk that doesn't have storefronts on it. This is made worse by the fact that today is an unusually sunny day in Cleveland and the sidewalk is the only place where there is any shade!

It's currently 82 degrees and sunny sunny sunny in beautiful Cleveland. Pack water and a parasol.

Carnival Cruise Lines Turns Away Pregnant Woman At Dock

Huey Tsao, an expectant mother, was looking forward to a family reunion aboard the Carnival Glory. Along with her boarding pass, she received a document entitled "Welcome Aboard: Things to know before you sail" which stated that guests who are 27 weeks into their pregnancy are not permitted to sail because of the risk of premature labor. Huey was not concerned because she was only 26 weeks and had a note from her physician stating that she was fit to travel. She and her family arrived at the dock only to find out some very bad news. Unbeknownst to Huey, Carnival had changed their no-sail pregnancy policy from 27 weeks to 24 weeks. Despite her doctor's note and attempts at escalating the issue, she was denied passage onto the boat. Her letter, inside... More »

It's Easy To Access Random Customer Info With Best Buy URLs

Cole discovered that by simply incrementing a numerical string by one in a url Best Buy sent out, he could pull up screen after screen of random customer info. Fortunately, all he could see were customer names, their home addresses, and their order numbers. It's still surprising that Best Buy—or more specifically, Postpublisher.net, the email company they outsourced this to—wasn't more careful with customer security. More »
