      • shibblegritz commented on BPA Linked To Erectile Dysfunction

"And the fear train rolls on. Water, in excessive quantities, is toxic, people. There is such a thing as safe exposure. This isn't to say I'm a fan of using dangerous chemicals when there's no need for them."

      • shibblegritz commented on Should Concert Promoters Have To Disclose Lip-Syncing?

"Dear God, is there any limit to which government will not go to nanny its subjects? If you're so dim as to believe talentless pop hacks are actually performing live, you probably also believe recorded performances are faithful reproductions of their angelic singing voices and that the Photoshopped models in womens' magazines are all really that perfect. Shall we require iTunes customers to click through a disclaimer that musical performances have been heavily edited and synthesized or require Photoshopping disclaimers on every altered photo (ie every photo that ever appears in a magazine?). Go to the damn show, enjoy the spectacle, but don't think you're in the presence of true talent, and don't expect government to warn you that you're not."

"@foodfeed: If I drink enormous quantities of water, I will die from what is known as water intoxication. We would, I think, all agree that water is as safe and benign a substance we encounter in our daily lives."

      • shibblegritz commented on Walmart Thinks Woman Is Laundry Soap Thief, Refuses Return

"Is it not conceivable that, perhaps, the lady was, in fact, trying to rip the store off and doth protest too much in an effort to retain what little honor she may yet retain? There are an awful lot of dishonest, corrupt moochers in the world, and just by sheer numbers, most of them don't own or manage corporations."
