      • ranwhenparked commented on 2010 Mazda3 Hatchback Shows Off Sexy New Rear Live In Bologna

"I really wasn't enamored with Mazda's new styling direction on the new 6, but its actually starting to grow on me. Maybe the looks are color sensitive, and the blue works better than the boring beige and silver, maybe the design translates better on a smaller car, or maybe its the well proportioned eye candy, at any rate, the 3 is still clearly the best compact on the market - at least until the Cruze and euro Focus arrive."

"Assuming the Chinese aren't biting, A consortium of Investor AB, Autoliv Inc., and Volvo AB (though the latter has already said no)might be nice."

"@FuzzyPlushroom: A previously unknown group of Islamist militants, possibly related to two or three preexisting groups operating in India and Pakistan. The Taj was a fairly obvious target, as its a major world landmark and easily the most famous hotel in India."

"Check out this: 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, 82000 miles, $5995, and its in the Detroit area. 2 air bags, cheap GM parts, 5.7L V8 and a no nonsense 1970s era body on frame platform."

"Good, the rift in the universe created by a $9990 Versa has been healed - thanks to Hyundai, the cheapest car in America is once again the worst car in America*, just as nature intended. *or at least tied with the Aveo."

      • ranwhenparked commented on Toronto Resident Rides Like A Politburo Big Chief In His GAZ Tchaika 14

"Always wanted a M14 Chaika, the older M13s are just too common - several imported to the US, and identical to a '55 Packard. Unfortunately, this one's expensive and a 1987 model, so it won't even be legal in the US for another 4 years."

"There's not much debate here. The Rolls is a complete car that just has 60 years of wear and tear - expensive to restore, yes, but by no means impossible."

"Um, GM accounts for 30% of the 10 Best list and they still have one foot in the grave, anyone else find that a bit messed up? Then again, if all three companies that built the Cord 810 could fail within 4 years of each other, anything's possible."

      • ranwhenparked commented on 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid

"@rlj676-new job, same problems: Its the same problem observed by Edgar Kaiser in the early 50's - "Slap a Buick nameplate on it, and it would sell like hotcakes." Only today, substitute Ford and GM for Kaiser-Frazer and the Toyota nameplate for Buick. Ford actually focus grouped the Mk1 Fusion with all traces of Ford badging removed, many in the groups believed it was either a new Toyota or Honda and were literally dumbfounded at the truth."
