"For them to call and lie to his face about warranty expiration and then have the police arrest him when he lies about burning down their store (and killing their families, although he went to far with that statement) What happened to free speech in this case and proof of intent?"

      • Nathanael Dale Ries commented on Repurpose Your Analog Television

"I agree with the first post, even if it is not used as a weather station and is used for some other purpose, these old CRT monitors use so much electricity compared to their newer counterparts that it might actually be better to turn them into fish tanks or containers or for case-modding than to actually power them on all the time... Of course there is always the option to recycle them."

      • Nathanael Dale Ries commented on Here's An Extra $25 A Week — Whoops, Now You Don't Qualify For Food Stamps

"I just realized after re-reading the article that he had been receiving $300 dollars a month in food stamps, and instead is now receiving $25 a week more in cash, which works out to $108.33 more a month, so he is really only out $192/month and not $275, making it all the less logical for him to stop paying his mortgage..."

"@mamalicious: My wife is currently not working, I do have student loans and medical bills (they are not extremely high, but right now I am unable to pay them...) He should hold off paying his debts in times of hardships so that he can handle the priorities: food, shelter, transportation and utilities should take precedent, not student loans (which can easily be put on hardship deferral) and as for the credit card debt, yeah, they're going to get mad and damage his credit and call him constantly when he stops paying them for a while, But at least he can make sure that their stomachs aren't empty, and the lights and AC is on... As for the bills their is no reason for me to reason that his are too extremely different from mine, and I am even able to pay for internet and cable... Him suggesting that he is going to have to stop paying his mortgage because of a loss of 275 dollars a month indicates a red flag to me that his priorities are not in order and to be honest I do not understand how this could have made such a huge difference to his financial stability if he followed better money management practices..."

"The guy complaining about this needs to get a life… Obviously, $1,500+ /month after taxes for two people in Rural are in GA is plenty… There are families with children who need the food stamps more than him and his wife. Also, If he couldn't afford a mortgage on his income unless he had government help with food stamps then why did he get one?"
