"@wendyr: I work in health policy, and while healthcare professionals definitely have a lot of good things to contribute to policy discussions, they should just be one of a number of stakeholders whose opinions are considered. Providers have had to endure a lot of crap through no fault of their own whatsoever, but as a result can often have a narrow view on things, to the point that it can be against their own self-interests even. So I think someone who has had experience at more of the 20,000 foot level than down in the trenches would be better, as they would bring a broader view."

Thanks for the Maori pronunciation tips, all!

Cesybabe or Nirvanah Crane on Oct 16, 2008

Hey, saw your question about prounciation of Maori. It's pretty much Mow-ree, so I hope that clears it up. The 'a' is like 'ah' and e is 'ee'- dont forget to slightly roll your tounge on the 'r'!
My Maori prounciation is a little sucky as I'm a Pakeha (white person) from the whitest part of NZ,but its a lovely language to hear spoken. We all learn a little at school, which is nice
      E noho ra (bye!)

Sadly, no. NY. I am not sure if there is a DC debate plan up.

      formergr on May 23, 2008

Yup-- not surprisingly for a while she was a heavy poster in the "Little House on the Prairie: Ma, Pa, and that Creepy Mime that Raped Sylvia" thread. Not sure if anymore, haven't been there as much recently...

      PrairieGirl on May 21, 2008

I just noticed you left a message for me! I hardly ever look at my profile page.

I have a different username at TWOP and I haven't posted anything on it for ages and ages. Is there another PrairieGirl over there?

Not sure if the first message worked - yes, there is a facebook group (DC Jezebelles). Join!

Hey - yes, there is a facebook group (DC Jezebelles). We met up last week and are trying to do one at least once a month! Join the group!

      Stalker, ahhh!

Just kidding, of course, and now I'm stalking you right back atcha.

I think teh kitties like sinks and tubs because they're nice and cool when it's hot-- of course if it's cold out then mine is stuck to me like glue for the body heat.

      freedc on Mar 11, 2008

ps- you're my first friend on here! I swear I'm not psycho! :)

      freedc on Mar 11, 2008

Hola! Yes, i'm in DC. That's cool, another Northern NJer in DC. The dog is my boyfriend's, but I claim him too, I just don't have to do most of the work ;) Glad you think he's cute, he's so sweet. He's almost a year old so still a puppy though he's pretty big and he takes care of his little 2-month-old half brother like he was a parent. It's cute to watch. LOVE your cat! It's so adorable that they all seem to love sitting in tubs and sinks.
