      • dragonvpm commented on Browns Fan Sues Because Madden Game Shows His Iconic Mask

"@GitEmSteveDave_IsWaving: Based on the Wisconsin ticket text, "made of, or at the event" seems to be the interesting part of the statement. It sounds like they can do anything they want with your image (or an image that you have the rights to) as it pertains to a game that you went to and it was seen at, but that doesn't mean that they can automatically create new content with that image without your permission and that makes sense. Personally I think lawsuits like this are kind of dumb, but given the NFL's attitude towards these exact issues and media ownership concepts in general, I think they probably deserve to be sued over things like this."

      • dragonvpm commented on Sprint, AT&T Won't Tell Identity Theft Victim Where Thief Resides

"Given that these companies are calling the OP themselves to verify his identity, I think their claim to be upholding some sort of privacy policy is tenuous at best. If they called the OP they had his correct phone number and if he can verify the social security number used on the account there should be no privacy concerns at that point."

      • dragonvpm commented on Skip Showing Up Super Early for Job Interviews

"Eh, in my line of work I often end up interviewing sub-contractors a lot when a new project starts and I've never particularly cared if someone is early for a meeting. I'd say anywhere from 5-15 min early is perfectly acceptable and shouldn't cause anyone stress."

"I call statistical shenanigans in this post. Using 1/4 of all POLICE-REPORTED crashes to come up with the figure of 1,452,750 has nothing to do with how many of those crashes relate to cell phone use."

"@krista: That's not entirely accurate. You only need to provide the legal name of one passenger who then gets their ID matched against their boarding pass as they go through security."

"@Alex Vollmer: Sorry, but "the man replied in a manner which, to me, seemed to be indicative of lack of respect, which I believe caused him to actually be brought in/detained." Is a load of crap."

      • dragonvpm commented on Above And Beyond: Canon Replaces Broken 5-Year-Old Camera For Free

"Canon has very good overall service, but they don't always fix everything for free. Last year I sent in my SD950 IS for an in warranty repair that was handled quickly and painlessly only to have the camera fail in the same way this past weekend."

"@katstermonster: Right, because we've never seen any Consumerist articles with Soup Nazi-esque flight attendants on some serious power trips. I really don't have a problem with this in the extreme cases, but I'm in the same boat with Chumas and I'm going to be curious how this plays out for any of us who are just flat out big."
