"@UnderLoK: Yep, we've heard the call for manual entry of cash purchases, checks that have been written but not cleared, and import from old Quicken/Money files loud and clear."
"For those who are concerned about security & privacy, it's worth mentioning that both the CTO, Aneesh Chopra, and CIO, Vivek Kundra, of the Obama administration use Mint.com:
[venturebeat.com]
I met with them last week and they asked if Mint could design a similar system for the federal government to visualize it's budget.
A couple of key things to note:
1) Mint.com is read-only, even if your account were hacked, you can't move money.
2) You're anonymous, we don't ask for your name, address, SSN, or anything like that - just an email and zip code for signup.
3) No account numbers or credit card numbers are in the system.
4) We have bank-level data security and routine auditing."
"@Crayfish
Mint.com will support more advanced multi-factor authentication, including interactive mode (pictures, tokens, etc.) probably in late Q1 2008."
"@MDELLINGER
If numbers make you feel more comfortable, we've signed up nearly 100,000 people in the two months since launch, and organized over $4.0 billion in transactions.
Our security is audited by third parties, and we use RSA, Verisign, HackerSafe, along with TrustE to independently confirm our privacy practices.
