"The problem isn't unemployment, or even motivation of workers.
The problem is choice.
Meaning, companies will not choose to hire additonal workers unless there is a financial incentive.Hiring workers drains the profit margins, and profit margins are the reason companies exist. Why hire anyone when one can still squeeze the current workers' productivity to equal the people who've been canned?
Rather than throwing money at unemployment, perhaps let us initiate a tax-credit to any corporation that add X percentage of workers over Y period of time?"
"Here's my statistics.
My family of three is myself, mom, and dad.
I'm a 22 year old working part time retail job, one that will likely drop me and half its staff in January.
Mom got laid off last week."
"Whats funny, is that we all can argue over coverage maps. From the very people that sell the service. Not like that's a biased coverage representation at all....
I know its hideously impractical, but an impartial third-party company with updated coverage info on all the carriers would put these issues to rest. And we could judge carriers based on 'honest' coverage info, because from personal experience I've had no signal in an area the map says is perfectly covered."
"Feel free to draft a contract, because no sales rep ive worked with or know would ever sign one.
As a part of my wireless sales training with two different companies, it was stressed to me and all parties that we didnt have the authority to sign or modify the contract, and to send any inquiries to the legal dept of the carrier."
"When I was shopping for a car loan 2 years back, my credit union rep told me that they use several scoring models-the FICO is only one of several score metrics they used, and he mentioned that they used a Beacon score alongside my FICO score to determing my loan amount.
Honestly, lenders may use any of the 'FAKO' scores in place of the hallowed FICO depending on what their internal metrics are, so one isnt more honest than the other."
