"@seanhcalgary: Alternately, you should be willing to pay a few extra bucks to the store for knowledgable, honest salespeople, saving you all the hours spent doing research."

"@Sockatume: On that subject, does anyone know why So many manufacturers make TVs where you have to open a screen-covering menu to adjust settings, and then exit out to check what the picture looks like?"

"@H3ion: I can give you the reason for it: Brand Loyalty. As a group, older adults still tend to shop at the same stores repeatedly if they have a good experience."

      • RvLeshrac commented on The Most Alarmingly Typical Best Buy TV Buying Experience Ever

"@Earl42: Some people need help when shopping for electronics, and some people actually build a relationship with a salesperson (though, of course, not usually with the sleazy douchebags as depicted in the OP). Buying an overpriced attachment is a way of saying "thank you" to the store, and helping to keep them in business. The reason we get such shit service, outsourced jobs, and a complete lack of support from companies is because everyone wants the *CHEAPEST* thing, and they're more and more rarely willing to pay anything more for a better experience."
