      • MinchinWeb commented on Microsoft Gives Up, Strips Default Apps from Windows 7

"For all the nay-sayers, the thing I like about Window's built in apps is I can sit down at any (Windows) computer, and I know there are at least the basic tools to accomplish most tasks at hand - imagine the hell IT lockdown would be if all these apps were stripped out of Windows! For many programs, I know there's alternatives out there, but I have yet to move to anything else, probably a combination of knowing the Windows version, and not feeling the need for more advanced features. Built in Windows programs I use on a regular basis: * Notepad - fairly lightweight and amazingly simple * Photo Preview * Windows Calendar * Calculator * Windows Fax & Scan * Windows Media Player * Windows Explorer * the free Games"
