n/a commented on Saleen Drops Dark Horse Mustang Into The Ring Ahead Of New Mustang Reveal In LA

My dad gave me his '05 Mustang convertible (with only 7,000 miles on it), which he can no longer drive due to his Parkinson's Disease. It's a fine car, very different from my daily driver (an '08 GTI), and the colour scheme turns heads. But, since it's a Ford, there are bits falling off EVERYWHERE. I actually keep a small Tupperware container in the car now to hold all the various screws and plastic bits as they rain down on me...

That being said, I really like the seats on this Saleen.

n/a commented on GM's 'Employee Pricing' Sales Mean Big Discounts On Cars Right Now

GM is lowering the resale value of its cars so much by doing this, it's scary. If you go buy a Saab, say, and spend $23,000 instead of $29,000, where do you think that money's going? Not into your pocket when you sell the car, that's for sure; you've already depreciated the shit out of it.

Honda doesn't offer discounts, but, at least in New England, you'd be hard pressed to find a four-door Civic on a lot these days. The same goes with the Prius, obviously. GM, you're killing yourselves, guys.

@msbask: My grandmother died in 2000. A few weeks before she died, I received a telephone call from her. I was in college, and my digital telephone system displayed her phone number and a name: M.B. McLean.

My step-grandfather, Mel, had died in 1974. My grandmother had not changed the name on her New Jersey Bell account even though her husband had died 26 years earlier.

The older generation has their quirks. Don't blame Judy for this one. She had obviously successfully used the card with her dead husband's name for the 10 years after he died. I hope that Sears gave her the opportunity to get another card, if she still wants one.
