I hope there are purists there who appreciate it. I met a guy recently who restored a VW ragtop he described as almost perfect that he repainted just because it had a little wear. MAN, it was original. I was actually mad at him. To each his own. Enjoy and follow your gut.

do have any suggestions for websites that are like the consumerist for corporate balance sheet or q10 stuff. Like a canary in the tunnel for enron, bears stern etc. like [www.creditslips.org]

It's generally expected to have a positive impact. It will stabilize the price of assets on BS's balance sheets by allowing time for them to sell themselves to another firm, which prevents those assets from being fire-sold to pay creditors.
