There's a gas station I was at recently in CT (I want to say Valero?) that had a sticker on the pump that said $0.45 federal taxes, $0.30 state taxes (I just made up those numbers) so I don't think it's illegial. They didn't advertise it on any signage or anything, just a 2" by 2" sticker next to the keypad.

Rye Playland does not charge for admission to the park -- you have to buy tickets and then each ride cost X number of tickets. It's basically a giant carnival with a couple bigger rides.

Now about the story...got the article to load. Very interesting...would like to see a relatively impartial study corroboraing the claims. Seems entirely plausable, I'm just a little suspicious that this is the first place I'm reading these accounts.

Ok, so 2nd one to suggest it. But just do the chargeback and let it be. You made a good faith effort to resolve the situation with the merchant.
