AT&T Says Their Rep Doesn't Want To Die

@ThomFabian: IT'S A JOKE! It's saying that CSR work sucks and working for AT&T is even worse.

Since they have stories weekly about how shitty AT&T is and how often people complain, imagine how shitty that job is??

Why are you people so nitpicky? It's not like the NYT put the wrong name of a seriel killer and some random guy got beat up in the street because of it.

Please take the stick out your ass.

@mikesfree: You, sir, need to take the pole out of your ass.

It's a blog, on the internet, that gives good information and sometimes makes jokes. Jokes are funny, and we laugh at them.

This doesn't take away from the rest of the stories, it just means in that one case, there was joking going on. To say that because of one joke post on a blog owned by Consumer's Union makes everything they put out a lie is not only a stretch of logic, but pretty much overall nitpickiness and anal retentiveness. Saying this would be the same as me saying that because we disagree on this one topic, one of us should die and stop wasting the other's oxygen. Except that would be stupid too, to make that jump. See how logic and normal escalation of things works?

Here's a wetnappy. Please wipe off the pole when you remove it so we don't all get sick. Please, think of the children.

First, in relation to other comments, some people take things too seriously. Did you just compare Consumerist to Fox news? Really?

Second, why is it that it took At&T literally 24 hours to throw up a PR report about how the rep didn't want to die, yet all the other problems they have (including the fact there is no "one system" for all the various areas and companies they've sucked up over the years which makes us all call 84 numbers to start and then get trasnferred 25 times by people who have no idea where to transfer us) are never fixed? At&T needs to concentrate of the real issues and stfu about stupid stuff like this.

Also, post was funny, if a bit old by the time it got posted here, and I still laughed.

Warner Bros. Offers Discount Blu-ray Upgrade Program

If this was industry wide and included all movies, that would be fantastic. As someone already said, the most popular movies (and the ones they take the most time to make look pretty in the Blu version) aren't included.

Now, if I had a Ps3 or was given a BluRay player, I'd be all about paying 8-10 bucks for BluRay versions of the few titles I had on the list, but I wouldn't be going out to buy a BluRay player just for this program and it wouldn't even be a selling point, it would just be a nifty bonus thing.

Plus, looking at the list, do you really need a BluRay version of Christmas Story over an upconverted DVD version they already own? Seriously?

@katstermonster: Again, from my childhood, my mother was directed by her pediatrician to add 1-2 tsp of whiskey to my formula when teething. A 2 yr old can be given the same to knock them out so they aren't A) in pain or B) or a bother to others.

I have sinus issues and I self medicate in a variety of ways before getting on a flight. Xanax, booze, dramamene, etc. It's just cruel to let a kid cry for hours, also disturbing those around you in a cramped/shared space, instead of knocking them out.

@tmed: Not trying to cause a flame war, just a discussion here:

I agree that children should not be held to the levels of adults to a point, but where are the adults who are watching that child to be made responsible for unruly kids? Yes, kids act out, but that doesn't make it a right or correct for them to be allowed to.

Point of fact, as a young kid, we were in a department store (Hudson's! I'm showing my age here) and I was playing in the clothing racks like they were my own private fort. I was told by my Mom to stop. I didn't, and she grabbed me by the arm and asked a store clerk where the bathroom was. She took me in and beat my ass. Needless to say, I stopped hiding in the clothing racks.

I feared my mother, as all children should fear their parents. She could give me an evil look most times or speak in That Tone and I was picture perfect. When I wasn't, I got the wooden spoon or her hand. Why can't we hold all parents to these standards, since we'd cut down greatly (there is no way to erradicate it) on unruly children in public.

Again, not trying to start a fight (since there is no easy answer to this fight) but I'm just posing a thought.

This is awesome of TJ's. People will take advantage of it, since people suck, but this should be written up as why TJ's is an awesome place to shop and why we should support them instead of MEGAMART chains.

Tofurky is horrible. I have veg-head friends who will not eat it. Last Thanksgiving these friends bought one of those little tofurkey roasts and we all tried some.

Horrible. It's not even pseudo meat. It's kind of what is probably served in hell as a reward for taking your beating well that day. Except it's not that good. It's how I imagine a pasty cooked version of styrofoam to taste.

That said, I plan on buying those same friends this, just because it'll be cute as an xmas gift.

Virgin Atlantic Overcharged Me, Says They Sent Refund, Didn't

Commented by sicknick:

Not saying it's right, but they could very well have tried to send a payment. At the internet based retailer I work at this sometimes happens. Basically we make one invoice (or a refund invoice) and then it gets screwed up in the process going to the credit card processor. Ours is called Paymentech. In fact, I just did a call with a customer who got one charge actually invoiced to her, but somehow it showed up as three pending transactions on the way to our credit card company. Now, I got the 6 digit authorization code from the processor, gave it to the customer, and she gave the auth codes to her bank. Some banks will do this over the phone, other ones require us to fax in something requesting the charges to be processed quickly as pending transactions that need to drop off. Some banks won't let anybody rush the process.

This isn't saying Virgin is right, here, I'm just explaining the process.
