White House Wants Your Car To Get 54.5 MPG By 2025

You're kidding, right? Back in the late 1980s, my ex-wife's Geo Metro was getting 53 MPG on the highway. Obviously, they could do it back then, but in the interim, they must have taken a stupid pill.

Receipt Checker Avoidance Tactic: Confuse Them With Extreme Politeness

Sheeple alert!

You don't get it. Once I pay for something it becomes MY property. I have nothing more to prove to BB, Target, Wal-Mart, or anyone else. The transaction is complete when I hand over my hard-earned cash, despite the failure of a minimum-wage employee to properly do their job and deactivate the security tag.

I have no more responsibility to "prove" to anyone that MY new property is just that, by showing a receipt or anything else, no more than they have the responsibility to prove to me that the shoes they are wearing are indeed theirs. They can see my receipt when the person making the request can show me the receipt for every article of clothing they are wearing ... you know, just to prove that it is theirs.

Burger King Employees Accused Of Racially Motivated Hate-Spitting

You can't blame Burger King. Rather, the full force of the law ought to be brought to bear on the person(s) who committed such a despicable act.

Let's look at this from a different angle ... Burger King hires the least employable folks in the employee pool, and pay them the lowest wages. And these people are charged with handling our food! They are, after all, not the best of the best, and have no other marketable skills ... otherwise, they'd be out there doing something else, rather flipping grease-laden burgers and fries at a fast food restaurant!

On second thought, perhaps Burger King **should** be held partly responsible. Maybe then, they'll start looking a little closer at their hiring practices, and at least perform better background checks on those left-over dregs of the employee pool.

Walmart Manager Takes Customer's DVD Away Because He Won't Show Receipt

And do you realize how much time is wasted harassing LEGITIMATE shoppers and PROPERTY owners, while the professional shoplifters are walking right on by, loaded to the gills with their booty?

Perhaps, if they are so concerned about reducing their loss from theft, they might better spend their time going after those who are actually committing a crime, instead of harassing (and subsequently driving away) legitimate shoppers (who are now legitimate PROPERTY owners in possession of they "stuff" they just paid for, making it THEIR PROPERTY.

C'mon ... be people, not sheeple.

Walmart Manager Takes Customer's DVD Away Because He Won't Show Receipt

Why? Because, once I pay for something it becomes MY property. It no longer belongs to the store. Therefore, they have no right to inspect MY property without MY permission; no more than they have the right to come into your home and inspect your property. Whether MY property is on my person, in a shopping bag, or in my home, I am guaranteed the right to live without being subjected to unreasonable searches.

Why not tell the "receipt checker" that they can see YOUR receipt for YOUR property, just as soon as they can show you a receipt for the shoes/pants/shirt/underwear/watch they are wearing.

Being detained at the door for refusing to show a receipt for YOUR property amounts to unlawful detainment, and I will not be subjected to such activities.

C'mon ... be people, not sheeple!

Verizon Reportedly Forces Smartphone Users To Exclusively Search Via Bing

MicroCrap ... up to their same old games. Now, they've found an equally sleazy bed-partner with Verizon. I found, and deleted, the Bing app from my Crapberry Storm ... twice. When it showed up a third time, I hid it.

I will NEVER use Bing ... no way! I'm am almost completely free from the deadly grip of MicroCrap on my home computers, and I'm not about to support them by using their ill-conceived, overrated, under-performing search engine.

I'll take my Google any day. Or rather, they can pull my Google from my cold, dead fingers!

Giant Supermarket Wants To See Your Receipt After You Get In Your Car

What a sheeple!!! If you want to give up your rights -- which are just as valid on "private property" as on "public property" -- don't expect the rest of us to join you. Once you purchase an item, that item is YOURS. And there is nothing that says I have to prove that ownership, once I've legitimately paid for it and made it mine.

Whenever I'm asked to show my receipt when I'm walking out of Wal-Mart (one of the worse of the offenders), I just keep walking and tell them they can see my receipt just as soon as they can produce the receipt for the shoes/pants/shirt/underwear they are wearing, to prove their ownership. They usually just stand there, dumbfounded.
