When I was stationed at WPAFB in the late 80s (coincidentally along with the father of former Consumerist Emeritus, Ben Popken), Dayton could be sm up with this one joke:

What has more culture than Dayton?

A container of yogurt! ;^)

That's only 5 over in most parts of Texas now. But, I agree that a more reasonable explanation is that it is 90kph.

In all seriousness, those container are very hazardous. If the liquid nitrogen warms up and is not able to vent, the container could literally explode. For you chemists, remember PV = nRT. In other words, pressure times volume is proportional to temperature. Raise the temperature of liquid nitrogen to room temp without allowing it to increase its volume means bad things happen. Much like what happens with a dry ice bomb - http://youtu.be/E_ux_mv319s

"The couponer says she has come to rely on coupons to make shopping for her large family affordable:"Everything I have I have a coupon for. I shop not without a coupon.""

Let me paraphrase that - " I have irresponsibly had more children than I could possibly afford. So, I use coupons which cost the manufacturer money. Those costs are then passed back to other consumers in the form of higher prices, all to support people like me."

Check Out This Nearly Undetectable ATM Skimmer

It would not be a 100% guarantee that the ATM did not have a skimmer, but it would sure help if the owner/manufacturer of the ATM put a picture of what the ATM should look like on the screen. Of course, they would probably resist doing so because it would scare off the customers by alerting them to a real problem. They would rather keep the customers in the dark.

Striking Verizon Workers To Lose Benefits If Strike Continues

Did anyone bother to read the article to find this quote:

"Young said the letter shouldn’t have been a surprise to the unions because the option of suspending benefits during a strike was in the workers’ contract. Verizon wants to give employees “as much time as possible to find alternative arrangements,” he said."

The union AGREED to that provision in their contract. It's a little late to be complaining about it now. And the Consumerist/Chris Morran. should have included that quote in the article above. It sure changes the perspective a bit...
