Not even brick. the walls are poured fucking concrete and the racking is steel. That shit ain't burning down. If he was smart he would have taken matches and lighter fluid to the insulation or the, you know... the 4-5 aisle of WOOD.

Boston Mayor To FCC: Please Don't Listen To Comcast

If the alternative is satellite in Boston, most definitely not. Satellite depends on having line of sight to the actual satellite dish, and between trees, other buildings, and power lines a lot of people can't get it.

My boyfriend is an installer for DirectTV and I'd say about a quarter fo the jobs he get sent out on can't get the service because there is no line of sight to the satellite.

Target Claims Tech Exec Created His Own Bar Codes To Buy LEGOs On The Cheap

This is a variation on a common retail scam. Usually the thieves just take the barcode off of one box (either cutting it off when it's printed on the box, or peeling off a sticker) for a cheaper item and stick it to the more expensive one. It's an easy scam to pull when the cashier isn't paying attention and the register has vague descriptions (like FITTING for every piece of pvc in the store *eyeroll*).

It's not uncommon for more rural areas to have them, since it's harder/more expensive for everyone to get internet access. I visited Ireland 4 years ago and stayed in a very small rural village and it had an internet cafe.

Amazon To Start Collecting Sales Tax In Texas

In my experience with other retailers who charge sales tax to online purchases, it's been the shipping address. I live in NH (no sales tax) and bought an item online in college with a credit card my parents received the bill for in MA (sales tax), and shipped it to me in NH, there was no sales tax charged.

Digital content from Amazon = fail. It can work.

I bought a nook and switched to ebooks instead of paper books due to space constraints in my house. All of my books are on my nook and backed up on my computer & on an external harddrive via Time Machine on OSX.
