What Should I Do When I Find A Lost Credit Card: Turn It In, Cancel It Or Try To Contact The Owner?
I once found AMEX card. I googled the owner, found their phone number, contacted them and arranged to meet and hand it over to them.(yes, i confirmed they were the real owner).
Carrier IQ: We Never Gave Anyone's Phone Data To The FBI, Promise!
They are playing on semantics here.
"Carrier IQ has never provided any data to the FBI". However, note that data is stored on Carrier IQ's servers. Phone carriers access those servers to work with data. That data might be owned by carriers, but it is still on Carrier IQ's servers.
From Carrier IQ's answer it is clear that phone carriers told Carrier IQ to allow FBI to access "carrier's data".
It is all semantics and careful use of words. Fact is FBI uses Carrier IQ's software to spy on US citizens(and possibly others too).

Have You Ever Used A Penny Auction Site?
Not exactly. On most of those sites you have to buy "bid tickets" in packages, like 100 bids will cost you $1 or whatever rate they have. And then every time you bid, they deduct one from your account.
So in reality if they increase bid price by 1c, an item that closed for $50, they actually sold it for $100.
