M&M's Now Come In Custom Face Flavor
My brother and his wife had their faces on some for wedding gifts. Somehow I just can't bring myself to eat those M&Ms. Seems kinda gross.
Ticketmaster, Live Nation Consider Merging, Destroying Concertgoing Forever
If my e-mail inbox is any indication, they have already begun merging.
I have NEVER had ANY dealing with LiveNation, but I have bought a few tickets from ticketmaster (because there was no other option). Starting a few days ago, I began to receive a ton of spam from LiveNation. I wonder if I can do something about that since I never told Ticketmaster that they could share my info, and they aren't officially merged yet.
Anyone have any ideas?
About 4-5 years ago, I declared Chapt. 7 myself. I'm a changed man since then, but that is a different story.
I filed pro se (I was on my own, no lawyer) and everything went fine. As long as your financial situation isn't very complicated, and you follow all the rules and forms carefully, it really isn't that bad.
Granted, I had no real assets besides a car, and very little income, but it only cost me $250 plus a day off to go to the creditor meeting.
The creditor meeting might sound scary, but most typically don't show up, and after telling the judge why you need to declare bankruptcy, and swearing that you have disclosed everything, you are free to go.
Fake Wired Magazine "Renewal Notice" Almost Tricks You Into Paying More
I've had a new (to me at least) and sleazy tactic tried on me a few times now.
I keep getting random 3 month subscriptions to various magazines showing up at my door. Once I get the third one, I find a "renewal notice" in my mailbox. Heh, right...renew something I never asked for to begin with.
Although some of the magazines are decent, there is no way in hell I will ever subscribe to them for trying to "trick" me into signing up.
Target Bungles Wedding Registry, Won't Exchange Duplicate Gifts Without Receipts
@ahempton: Of course, on the other hand, thieves did probably take advantage of the lax policy in relation to the gift registry, so I suppose that's who we have to thank.
True, but I'm not a thief, and don't want to be treated like one when I go to return something that I received twice because of Target's mistake.
Target Bungles Wedding Registry, Won't Exchange Duplicate Gifts Without Receipts
I deleted my entire registry at Target as soon as word got out that they were planning on making receipts mandatory for EVERYTHING, including registry gifts.
I'm now really glad I did, since this is exactly what I figured would happen.
My huge family would have loved to buy all of my stuff there, but I told them why they couldn't, and so now Target lost out on some big money, especially since I'm sure I'm not the only one to wipe their registry.
Way to go Target! You saved money on that $50 scammy return, in exchange for a thousand or so in real sales.
Watch Out For High Interest Rates On Store Credit Cards
These cards sure can be bad, but used correctly, they can be really great.
I have a fixer-upper house, and a Home Depot credit card. I have never paid interest on any purchases with that card.
Every few months or so, they send a coupon for no interest, no payment financing for purchases over $299. When we get one, we buy materials for our next few big projects, and then work on them throughout the year while making small payments on it. By the time the year is up, the balance has been paid.
Works great for me, but if you aren't careful and you hold the balance for the whole year, ALL of the interest for the whole year gets dumped into the balance.
Bought A Diamond? Get A Piece Of $135,432,500 DeBeers Lawsuit
I STILL can't file a claim. I enter my name and address and the system just hangs and times out.
I've tried everything, Firefox-IE-Home IP-Work IP.
Anyone else having the problem or know how to help?
BrightHouse Cable Disconnects Your Service After Too Many "Unsubstantiated Complaints"
Reminds me of my problems with Charter. My Internet connection and cable TV went out EVERY time it rained. After repeated calls, they gave up and said it must be my fault. I didn't believe it, so I went out to the apartment cable box. The line from the street to the cable box was LAYING ACROSS THE GRASS IN PUDDLES, with lawnmower marks all over it.
After calling the techs again, I was told this is impossible, and that it was still my fault. I then sent pictures of the line and the box. They said I faked them, and told me it was still my fault.
Needless to say, I or my family and friends haven't done business with Charter since.

Pulling The Plug On Central Air May Be Worth The Gain For the Pain
I hope no one around here reads this. I already have to identify way too many bodies pulled from houses that don't have the a/c running. Usually, the only reason someone calls the police is because of a "funny smell".
