Possible Class-Action Suit Alleges Xbox Bans Result Of Vast Redmond Conspiracy

Sorry, but I'm on the modders' side on this one. I believe that once you buy something, it is YOURS to do what you want with, and the manufacturer has no right to dictate how you use it. I can understand the warranties being voided by modding, but to ban people for it? Come on, Microsoft. For shame. It's like a car company remotely disabling your car cause you installed a K&N filter. Yeesh.

I have a Windows Mobile phone that I immediately unlocked & 'modded' with custom software as soon as I got it. I dare MS or Sprint to disable my device or cut off my service just cause I'm using the device that I PAID FOR in a way they don't like.

If it piggybacks off Verizon, you can't use a GSM phone with it. Verizon is CDMA.

Wow, this is actually a good deal. If I could find out if I could use my Sprint phone with this service I'd probably switch over. I know if I unlocked it I could TECHNICALLY use it, but would the company LET me?

If Obamacare gets approved, my dad will be left to die. He has Myelodysplasia, which is like 'preleukemia'. He gets sick easily, a cold can easily land him in the hospital for 2 weeks or more. His treatments & meds are expensive, but with them he leads a normal life and feels pretty good. He's 71, retired, and on Medicare. If Osama gets his way, my dad will be denied his Neupogen shots & given Tamiflu & end of life counseling instead.

I hate Obama. So, so much.

I really don't see what the big deal is about showing your reciept. They're not ACCUSING you of stealing, they're just trying to cut down on theft by catching the few douchebags who DO try to walk out with stuff they didn't pay for. Lots of people actually do that too. I worked at Wal-Mart a while back & you wouldn't believe the number of people who would load up large items like TVs & furniture and just try to walk out like they paid for it. And they'd get caught because they didn't have a receipt!

Sorry, but I just don't get why people think being asked to show a receipt equates to having your civil rights trampled on. It's stupid.

That sucks, I actually like Old Navy. The prices are reasonable, the quality is pretty good, and the clothes aren't slut-tastic whore wear like most of the stuff out there now. I hope they stay open :/

@xtc46 - thinksmarter on twitter:

Wal-Mart did the same thing, but with ex-Target managers. I worked at Wally world for a couple months this year & those managers made us all wear navy shirts & khakis, outlawed mp3 players(which I snuck in anyway, F 'em), and forbade the wearing of any hats or jackets without the walmart logo on it. Did it improve morale or productivty? No. Did it improve the public's opinion of Wal-Mart? No. Did it succeed in pissing off all the employees? Yes. Big fat pointless fail.

I wish companies would quit fixing what ain't broke.

Greeeeeat.

One of the things I like most about Microsoft is how unpretentious they are. I swear, if I have to start dealing with uppity latte-sipping twenty-somethings everytime I need to buy computer stuff I'm just gonna start ordering online.
