Very good reading on Forbes, if you substitute the word "Sears" or "Kmart" everytime you see the word "Best Buy" you get a pretty good idea where those companies are going.

Considering the fact Red Robin is just an overpriced hamburger joint with a bar, I'd say this is a dumb move.

GM: Bankruptcy Is "Probable"

Its so easy to say, "let the companies just die" Yet if that happens and thousands of dealers close, plants close and the local economy if smaller cities are destroyed, there will be no "do overs" or "take backs".

Then I think you will hear a different tune out of the major news media.

Would really love to see a major news source such as CNN or Fox pick this up and run with it.
Would bring a really warm fussy feeling to all us Consumerist supporters.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.
I would say going to Best Buy and expecting good service at a reasonable price would certainly qualify as insanity.

It's Official: Newspapers Are Dying

One of the best examples of newspapers failure.
I handled advertizing for a new car dealership, and spent a considerable amount each month, when I noticed subscription numbers and the size of the paper dropping, I asked for a small discount since we were reaching less people. I was told that my rates would in fact go up, due to the rising cost of publication, and decreased revenue. After I stopped laughing at my sales rep, I realized she wasnt joking. That was the day I stopped wasting money on print ads. I hope her next job works out a little better.

Your Car Is Used. Should GM Still Be Responsible For A Mistake It Made In The Factory?

Commented by htrodblder:

Lets not forget this vehicle was purchased USED. When he bought it he had an opportunity to purchase an extended service contract, which it appears he did not. If he purchased it used from a private party, he could have still purchased a extended service contract from any GM dealer. If he had a prior business relationship with any GM dealer, they would have provided him assistance on the spot, even if it was a 50/50 split based on the mileage. However, when a customer comes in that has NEVER done business with the dealer (such as the people who think saving $5.00 at Jiffy lube or Wal Mart is smart) then there will be no assistance. Dealers go out of there way to help their CUSTOMERS, as any smart business would. I'm still guessing the "tool factor" played a part in this as well....
