Larceny is the trespassory taking of the property of another with the intent to permanently deprive. This thief has met all the elements. The taking of the iPad was trespassory (unlawful) because it was not the thief's property, but rather the OP's. The iPad was not his, thus the property of another. Furthermore, the thief has made no attempt to return the iPad to the rightful owner. The thief has therefore demonstrated he or she no longer wants the rightful owner to have her property back.

I tried to bring contact solution, knowing this policy. Unfortunately, TSA did not. I didn't make a big stink about it, because fortunately it was a $2 bottle of saline solution.
The guy behind me told me I was right, but it didn't help change the minds of the TSA agents who took it from me :(

I agree. I am on the shorter side, so having the drop side was very helpful. I also did not buy a cheaply made one--I went to a well known purveyor of quality children's furniture and purchased a Canadian-made crib.
