Why Did Toyota Sell Me A Van With An Obsolete Navigation System?

My friend had some music playback issues with the nav system in his 2011 VW, and during troubleshooting the dealer swapped his with a 2012 model they had on their lot to see if the newer hardware fixed the issue. It didn't work, and VW eventually swapped it back, but it sounds like the OP bought a car that they swapped like that.

There's also tires, engine oil, and other fluids, not to mention general wear and tear. Using the IRS reference of $0.51 per mile, you should consider your total cost to be over $1000. Still cheaper than the plane tickets up front, but much higher cost if something goes wrong with the car and you get stranded.

"Of course it did involve collecting money...."

I think the real kudos is that they didn't "misplace" it. Neither the donor nor the beneficiary would know.

I think it's the text/email stuff, not calls, that are the issue. The things that make you look away from the road for an extended period of time.

All joking aside, my cat's favorite bread is naan. He ravenously attacks the bread, the bag, me, and anything else it touches. I kept it on top of the fridge for a while, but I had to move it once he learned how to jump up there. There are no counters near it, so it's quite a feat. Now I just need to hope he doesn't learn how to open cabinets.

I'd imagine if you had that problem, the correct way to handle it would be to invest it in something that would give you dividends to supplement or replace your income. I've thought about it every time I see the "FDIC insured up to $250k" line, at least until I look at my net worth and cry a little.

Indicia on the envelopes looks like it's for presort first class, so probably more like $0.30 each. Your point stands, though. Still way more than they needed to spend.
