This Year Was A Statistically Fantastic One In Terms Of Staying Alive On Airplanes

I wish that were a possibility for me, but until I find another way to cover large distances in a very short amount of time I will continue to fly. Mainly because my job forces me to, but moreover when I go on vacation I'd rather not spend days traveling.

White Castle Really Wants You To Make Slider Stuffing This Thanksgiving

It doesn't get any better out here near philly. Most of these people haven't even had a white castle before!!! I'm originally from Detroit, grew up with one right down the street, used to take on crave cases with a friend back in the day, but alas I move to the east coast, and I gotta natta for good drunk food... well aside from a cheesesteak, they're pretty damned awesome at 3am.

How Your $19.95 U-Haul Rental Could End Up Costing You $1200

Last year I towed a U-Haul trailer ~2000 miles (but it was considered an in-town rental), and when I moved earlier this year I rented a big truck from the same U-haul. I think it really comes down to the dealer (or franchisee) you get. Mine is my local Ace Hardware, I live in a relatively small town, and know the owners of that Ace quite well. It's really the small town Ace they advertise in the commercials (there's even a Golden Lab that wanders around the store looking for attention). So in my experience it's been great. When I rented the trailer I told them I planned to take it to Florida and back (was going to see the 12 hours of Sebring race). They made sure to clean and re-pack the wheel bearings, and replace one of the tires that I noticed had some dry-rotting. It was an older trailer, and I did have to use my Leatherman to do some rest stop lighting repair (one of the brake light sockets was loose), but all in all I love my local U-haul. Not sure I'd do business with any other U-haul location, and before I lived in this area I swore by Penske, but the U-Haul dealer by me gives that small town friendly kind of customer service and the people that work there are genuinely nice people.

Should We Meddle In Furniture Sales Commissions?

Commented by egoods:

I work a commission job now, and we try to keep it as fair as possible, but often times when I'm on lunch I'd rather somebody else handle it, if it means getting my commission split (or sometimes I get nothing) I don't sweat it. Nothing looks as bad to a customer as sales people arguing over commission. When we work as a team we all make more money, and honestly handeling the customer promptly is what really matters. Sure she handled the sale and had the commission split this time. But next time when she's on lunch the same thing might happen. Now, this is assuming she's not sharking sales, that IS noticeable, and trust me if she's doing that the other sales people know, and she won't last long.

Borders Gets No Love From Bidders, Forced To Liquidate

I disagree. I have, and use almost weekly my gamestop powerup card. Now, can I probably hunt down and find a used game cheaper on half.com or amazon? Probably. But I never really know what game I'm going to buy next, and as much crap as people give GS, the employees at the store I go to are knowledgable, and fun to talk to. So, even if I lose out in the end, it's worth the extra money for the instant gratification and the people I get to converse with in the store.

Florida Restaurant Sues Wendy's Over "You Can't Fake Fresh" Slogan

Commented by egoods:

Do I think they'll confuse it with Wendys? No. Do I think that the general public would assume this small crap shack company stole the slogan from the much more widely advertised wendys? Yes. Also, and I'm no attorney so I may be wrong, but if you don't protect you intellectual property don't you stand to lost the right to use it?

I travel quite a bit for work and have Diamond status on Delta. When I get bumped (almost always) and they ask me if I have a companion I scan the waiting area for anyone in uniform, if there is one I tell the ticketing agent they're my companion, just my little way of giving back to our brothers and sisters in arms.
